*vows to rid state of criminals

A security outfit established in the thirty-six states and all the local government areas of Nigeria, the Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN), Bayelsas state Command has  vowed to reduce crime and criminality to its bearest minimum in Bayelsa State.

The group established basically in fighting criminality has sent a bill to the National Assembly for ratification and passage into law to give it a legal backing.

Disclosing this to newsmen in the Command’s headquarters in Yenagoa, the Bayelea State capital, the Commander, Hunter Group of Nigeria Hunter Felix George reiterated the group’s determination in hunting criminals and re-locating them to neighboring states, stressing that criminals will  have no hidden place in Bayelsa state.

Hunter George, said his officers and men are working around the clock to apprehend and prosecute criminals, noting that the Tombia bridge which is a flash point will be given a priority in order to safeguard lives and property of residence.

 He described  Tombia round about as a den of robbers and criminals which did not portray the state in good light, saying that visitors, market women, students and girls have been  victims to the activities of these criminals operating in this area.

The Hunters Group Commander noted that the security outfit will dismantle criminals and will pin its flag and office in strategic flash points, emphasizeing that in its bid to fight criminals to stand still it needs collaboration with government and the general public.

 On the issue of recruitment of personnel into the HGN, the Commander revealed that such persons be of honest behavior, a good hunter with great deal of security experience  who are ready to serve their fatherland whole heartedly.

 while commending his officers and men of the command for their professionalism, respect constituted authorities, urged them not don’t take the law into your hands but rather act incordance with the law by handing over suspected criminals to the law enforcement agencies.

 He highlighted the group’s  partnership with conventional security outfits, notably, the Nigeria police force, the army among others in fighting crime, While pledging to collaborate with the press in information management and dissemination as according to him information is key in the fight against crime.

Commander George re-emphasized that within the next ten years and beyond the security outfit will be force to reckon with within Nigeria and outside the country, and re-counted its achievements in crime fighting, especially arresting criminals and handing over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution.

 The Bayelsa commander also noted that the HGN internal security and the maintenance of law and order, stand them out in Bayelsa state and  appealed for kind support from government, corporate organizations and well meaning Nigerians in fighting crimes especially provision of logistics, communication gadgets, touch lights, rain coats, among others.

 On the aspect of training and re training of personnel,  he noted that the command has highly and professionally trained officers and men with over one thousand three hundred  trained  by the Nigeria army, the Nigeria police force and urged government at all levels to support the security agencies in the provision of crime fighting equipments notably, gunboats, patrol vans, guns among others.

Commander George appreciated the Commandant General of the HGN for his pragmatic effort and the recent commissioning of the Bayelsa state command headquarters, while also appealing to the general public, especially, youths in the state to enlist in serving their father land, based on community policing strategies as it is outlined by the national establishment in compliance with Federal Government directives.

 He further appealed to youths in Bayelsa state to abstain from crime, stressing that it pays to be peaceful than to be in pieces.
