CABO construction Chief Executive hails Bayelsa United NPFL return

The Chief Executive Officer of Cabo Construction, Mr Taiwo Babalola has lauded Bayelsa United promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League NPFL after seven years in the lower division.

Bayelsa United on Saturday spanked Cynosure Fc 2-0 at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa with goals from Timitimi Ineikade and Robert Mizo .

Mr Babalola in an interview with journalists shortly after the game said he was happy to see Bayelsa United rise to the topflight of Nigeria football, having missed the promotion last in year, pointing outing that it has been his wish for the team to play in the elite division, after his company has completed rehabilitation work on the turf.

According to Mr. Babalola, the company’s work at the stadium would be showcased to other premier league teams that would visit Yenagoa next season, stating that the victory has further shown that with good pitches players would always give their best.

While appreciating Governor Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for the proactive steps they took to bring the team back to Yenagoa from the Nembe City stadium, he asserted that the commitment of the state government towards sports development accounted for the successes achieved by the team.

He thanked the management and technical crew for recruiting good players having won the Aiteo Cup last season, urging them to maintain the momentum as they prepare for new season.

Mr Babalola added that the return of Bayelsa United to the professional football league will put Bayelsa State back on the spotlight in sports and boost the state’s economy, as it will attract more investors, sponsors and development.
