Street Coordinator across the Niger Delta, and Third Phase beneficiary of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Gen. Stanley Abiri, alias ‘Faceless, has appealed to stakeholders and beneficiaries of the programme to support its Administrator Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro to uphold peace and development in the region.
He said, Otuaro commitment to unity, peace and shared prosperity remains unwavering, stressing that, within his saddle in office, he has given every opportunities to beneficiaries to thrive.
Gen. Abiri, made the remarks in a statement in yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital, ahead of the Democracy Day Celebration.
The ex-agitator also expressed his heartfelt felicitations to President Bola Tinubu, on this year’s ‘Democracy Day celebration ‘ on June 12, 2025, describing the nation democracy as one that had already stabilised with an unbroken chain of 26 years.
According to him, the Day June 12, stood out as a symbol in the annals of our political history to be reckoned with.
He further stated that, June 12, also reminds us of the struggle for democracy and justice and those who paid the supreme price for the return of civil rule back to the country and enjoined Nigerians to zealously guide it.
He maintained that, the current democratic dispensation, which we are enjoying in the country, should be safeguarded and protected.
He said, it was despicable to hear from some quarters in the region who have taken it upon themselves to discredit and attack Otuaro, just because of seIfish reasons, and cautioned distractors to give peace a chance and support Otuaro to succeed.
Gen. Abiri, also pointed out that, the Amnesty Programme under the watchful eyes of Otuaro is on course, and have recorded tremendous achievements, stressing that, Otuaro has dedicated his energy working tirelessly for the benefit of all.
He noted that owing to the mandate of the programme and Otuaro’s integrity and persona he is too committed to dissipate his time towards fighting people.
He added that Otuaro’s clarity of vision, and his insistence on service delivery has drawn applause and admiration from stakeholders and beneficiaries.
He noted that, President Bola Tinubu’s two years scorecards have been impactful and commended his courage of removing the fuel subsidy which eliminated market distortion giving rise towards a market – driven economy and also salute Otuaro’s transformative agenda of the Amnesty Programme.
Therefore, he called on youths and stakeholders to reward Otuaro by maintaining the prevailing peace in the region.
