…as Education Commissioner visits GSTC Swali

Students of the Government Science, Technical and Vocational College, Swali-Yenagoa, prepared natural fruit juice and meat pie for visiting government officials yesterday.

‎Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah while visiting the school in Swali, stated that, the colleges were established to make students self-reliant in the future.

‎Dr. Emelah further commended Governor Douye Diri’s vision of placing more emphasis on vocational and technical education over mere paper qualifications, while calling on parents to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling their children.

‎”Today, we are translating the vision of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri to place more emphasis on vocational and technical education over mere paper qualifications so as to churn out graduates from our secondary schools who will not be job seekers but can be self reliant and put food on their tables.

‎I call on parents to take advantage of this opportunity, by enrolling their children in the various Science,Technical and Vocational Colleges across the state”, Dr. Emelah stated.
